Late Thursday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office identified the gunman who walked into a Publix in Royal Palm Beach and shot a grandmother, her nearly 2-year-old grandson, then himself, as Timothy J. Wall, 55, of Royal Palm Beach.
The agency said that as of Thursday night, there was "no known motive or relationship between the gunman and his victims." It cautioned that its detectives still were investigating.
Here's what we know a day after the shooting about the gunman, Timothy J. Wall. Check back for updates on this story.
Who is Timothy J. Wall?
Wall was a 55-year-old carpenter, working for a temp agency. He had been legally evicted from his ex-wife's home and had filed for bankruptcy, records show. He appeared to be a vagabond of late, living at motel efficiencies before the shooting.
He declared bankruptcy in January, where he lists as his possession an APC 45 semi-automatic handgun meant for use by police and the military.
What happened at the Publix in Royal Palm Beach?
Wall walked into the produce section of the Publix and fatally shot a woman and her young grandson. He then turned the gun on himself, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. The toddler would have turned 2 years old this month.
Officials said a gun was found near Wall's body, and they believe his injuries were self-inflicted.
Who were the victims in the Publix shooting?
A woman, 69, and a child, 1, were among the dead. PBSO declined to release the names of the woman or the toddler, saying their family had cited a 2018 state constitutional amendment allowing crime victims and their families to withhold their names from public reports. It is modeled on California's Marsy's Law.FacebookTwitterGoogle+LinkedInPublix shooting, Royal Palm Beach, photos: 3 people dead after shooting ... Fullscreen

Did Wall have medical issues?
Wall suffered from schizophrenia, and his family tried to get help for him from police to no avail, the sister of the man's ex-wife told The Palm Beach Post on Friday. Maia Knight of Wellington is the sister of Wall's ex-wife, Monica Sandra Wall.
Was he married?
Wall married Monica Sandra Wall in 2003. The couple divorced in July 2017. They have a 14-year-old daughter.
A Palm Beach County circuit judge had allowed Timothy Wall to live in his marital home for a few months. But in May 2019, Monica Sandra Wall evicted her ex-husband from her Royal Palm Beach residence, court records show.

Has there been a Publix announcement on the shooting?
“Our thoughts are with those who are impacted by this tragedy,” Publix said in a statement Thursday, adding that it is also cooperating with law enforcement.
On Friday, a day after the shooting, Maria Brous, director of communications for Publix, issued a statement for the company: "The tragedy that occurred at our store yesterday, for the community, for our Publix family and for the families of the victims, our hearts and thoughts are with them. We appreciate the support that we've received up to this point. We can share with you that we've been working very closely with the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office. Once the store was turned back into our custody yesterday, we went through a process, a deep clean and disinfection of our store. We discarded any product that was impacted, and we also redesigned the layout of our store. We, at this point, have offered grief counseling to our associates, and we have tremendously appreciated the outpouring of support from our community."
